PolyU graduate wins creative talent award

University publications win accolades

PolyU design graduate Stella Lin Hiu-yin has recently won the CreateHK Young Design Talent Award. With her winning project entitled “Transformation of Zero”, Stella has been awarded HK$250,000 to support further studies or an overseas internship.

In “A Lacuna in Telephone Directory” — part of Stella’s winning portfolio, she created twelve stories with different media, such as video-making, calligraphy, illustration and photography, to showcase twelve different phonebook functions.

Stella believes that designs should be simple and direct, yet with personal touches. Through her designs, she explores the interrelationship among the environment, humans and visual graphics.
