The teaching hotel complex of PolyU has been awarded Medal of the Year 2011 by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects. Designed by Rocco Yim in collaboration with PolyU project team, the eco-conscious building was praised by the judges for its large glass atrium allowing natural light into the space and the three-storey high interior vertical plant wall. The design that the architect used to balance noise and air pollution was also highly commended. This project has also been presented the "Skyrise Greenery Awards 2012 - Silver Award" by the Development Bureau of the Government of HKSAR. Details (related press report - in Chinese only)
