PolyU helps unleash design potentials of elderly and disabled Nurturing Global Citizens through International Week
|
Earlier this year, Troels H. Povlsen Care Apparel Centre of PolyU’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) organized the “Youreable” Fashion Design 2013 which has attracted enthusiastic participation of over 300 elderly and disabled people from Hong Kong, Macau and the Chinese mainland. During the event’s award presentation ceremony, a catwalk show was staged featuring the loved ones of the participants dressed in those creative outfits. The ceremony was officiated by Dr Ko Wing-man, Secretary for Food and Health of the HKSAR Government, and Prof. Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President. The event not only provides participants with the opportunity to unleash their design talents with the help of ITC students, but also fosters community care and social inclusion. Details>>
