A team of researchers from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in Spain published a paper titled “Bibliometric analysis in the international context of the ‘Construction and Building Technology’ category from the Web of Science database” inthe international journal - Construction and Building Materials. According to this research paper, PolyU tops the world in the publication of articles related to the field of construction and building technology.

By establishing a ranking of over 12,800 institutions and research institutions that conduct research in the field of construction and building technology, the research found that PolyU led institutional production with 587 weighted articles between 1997 and 2011. The University rose from the fourth position in the 1997/1999 period to the first place in the 2000/2002 period; and ranked number one in all 2003/2005, 2006/2008, and 2009/2011 periods (the latest period studied).
