Opera Unveiled: Exploring Cultural Policies and the Spirit of Carmen
A Sharing and Demonstration Session

Dr Warren Mok, Honorary Professor at the Department of English and Communication and acclaimed international operatic tenor and founder of Hong Kong’s premier opera company, Opera Hong Kong, comes to PolyU to not just talk about opera, but to regale us with some of the most romantic music from Western opera.
After introducing why opera is such an exciting art form and why Western opera is important to China and its cultural development, singers from Opera Hong Kong will perform excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen in celebration of its 150th anniversary.
