Born in Shanghai in 1960, Mr Wang Tian-de is an innovative ink artist known for his creative use of incense sticks as a form of brush. Well versed in traditional Chinese art and culture, Mr Wang searches for further possibilities in the realm of ink art. His most ground-breaking creation – Chinese ink with burn marks on layered rice paper and the use of incense sticks in lieu of brushes to paint – transforms paintings of traditional landscapes and calligraphy, while conveying the ephemeral quality of painting. Mr Tang Hoi-chiu, former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, will shed light on Mr Wang’s innovative works and techniques.

Lo (1910-1995), which include many fine examples of the famous Yixing tea ware. The Flagstaff House itself boasts a history of over 170 years, which originally served as the office and residence of the Commander of the British Forces in Hong Kong. Led by Mr Tang Hoi-chiu, you will be dazzled by the rich collections of the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware and the long history of Chinese tea drinking and tea ware.
