(CoP) DIY a Virtual World for Your Class or Project (2-day Experience and DIY Series on Mozilla Hubs)

Facilitator: Meela Wan, EDC
Facilitator: Anthony Ho, EDC
Venue: BC401

Teachers and students - join this 2-day workshop series and start using metaverse-like virtual worlds in your teaching or projects, perfect for absolute beginners!

Mozilla Hubs is a free, open source and versatile platform that can be used for a variety of immersive virtual applications, such as events, training sessions, classrooms, art galleries, meetings, and social spaces.

No prior experience with virtual reality or coding is needed - we'll guide you through every step of the way. By the end of the series, you'll have the skills to create your own virtual environments, host virtual events, and connect with others in a unique and immersive way.

Day 1: Introductory and VR experience session (17 April 14:30-15:45)

Day 2: Hands-on DIY session (18 April 14:30-16:30)

  • Create your own virtual world and explore interactive experiences.
  • Receive future coaching and training assistance in adapting virtual worlds into your teaching or projects.

This activity is jointly organized by the Project ICE (Immersive Communities for Education) of EDC and the CoP on Video and Immersive Media for Teaching and Learning.
