In this workshop, Dr Enoch Chan will share his experiences in enhancing student engagement in both face-to-face lectures and pre-recorded lecture videos. He will focus on making content more accessible and utilising online tools to facilitate interaction in large-class settings. Dr Chan will demonstrate how he has used Mentimeter to engage with students in such environments. Participants will have the opportunity to experience Mentimeter from a student's perspective during the session and will then explore how to implement Mentimeter or similar online tools in their own large-class teaching activities.

About the Speaker:
Dr Enoch Chan is a Lecturer jointly appointed by the School of Clinical Medicine and the School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. He possesses expertise in various disciplines, including Biomedical Sciences, Medical Education, and Educational Technology. Dr Chan completed his PhD in Pathology at UNSW Sydney, focusing on cardiovascular diseases. Following this, he worked as a Biomedical Educational Developer at the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at UNSW Sydney, Australia. He earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Education (with distinction) from the University of Edinburgh and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Medical Education at the University of Dundee. As a Lecturer at HKU, Dr Chan teaches Physiology across multiple undergraduate programmes and coordinates various educational technology and students-as-partners initiatives within the Faculty of Medicine.
