“Transforming students from users into creators” is an innovative teaching concept in the optometry program that reimagines traditional healthcare education. In this session, Professor Leung will share insights from his teaching innovation, where students utilised 3D printing and laser cutting technologies to create novel binocular vision training tools addressing real clinical needs and how they deepened students’ understanding of fundamental concepts. This session is particularly useful for faculty members interested in pedagogies that integrate theoretical knowledge and practical applications to foster creativity, problem-solving abilities, and deeper student engagement in learning.
