English Competition Final Results

The inaugural PolyU English Competition came to a close on February 9th, with all six finalists gathered for the prize presentation ceremony held at CILL. The winners were announced to a round of applause and cheers: Cornelius LEUNG: Best video – A perfect day in PolyU Cornelius LEUNG: Most popular video – A perfect day in PolyU Ka Yee CHAN: Most inspiring video – Jumping out of your comfort zone is DUMP! Lok Yi LAU: Best presentation video – My PolyU story The competition aimed to promote the importance of English communication in a multimodal context and encourage students to develop their storytelling and speaking abilities, and we were thrilled with the insightful PolyU stories and diverse talents demonstrated through all finalists' work. Boost speaking skills at CILL Chat Corners

Boost your speaking skills, fluency and confidence at CILL A305. Our weekly Chat Corners are a chance to practice English conversation, meet students from diverse backgrounds, and develop your English skills this semester. No registration needed - just drop by and join the chat. Every weekday, at 12:30 and again at 2:30, through March 24. Join us!

Big Mouth Corner

Join Big Mouth Corner at CILL A305. Enjoy games, challenges, activities and free chat with our 8 student hosts. New themes each week! Join the Excel at Engish Scheme

Your EES mentor will provide free, expert language support in a small group setting. Examples of support and practice include: language learning tips guidance on your assessment drafts and plans advice on ELC grading rubrics     help with your English needs for your discipline or required subjects   practice in conversational English work on pronunciation skills interview skills English in academic and professional contexts Mentors will customise sessions according to your needs and requests.
