PolyU names lecture theatre after Dr Allen Shi Lop Tak

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has named a lecture theatre after Dr Allen Shi Lop-tak, Founder and Chairman of Brilliant Group, in recognition of his contribution to the Hong Kong community, as well as his ardent support to the University. At the naming ceremony held on 24 June 2016, Mr Chan Tze-ching, PolyU Council Chairman, and Professor Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President, expressed their sincere appreciation to Dr Allen Shi and Mrs Kimmy Shi for their generous donation to PolyU and commended on their commitment to philanthropy. Members of PolyU Council, Court and the PolyU Foundation Governing Committee, as well as Dr Shi’s family members and friends also attended the ceremony to witness this memorable moment.

Dr Allen Shi Lop-tak graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic, the forerunning institution of PolyU, in 1980 and has been supporting his alma mater over the years. Besides his successful business endeavours, Dr Shi has also been dedicated to serving the community and is keen on supporting charity work and youth eductaion.

Located at Block Z on campus, the Allen Shi Lop Tak Lecture Theatre has 252 seats with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment for teaching, seminars and academic workshops.
