Introduction

PolyU MILES Alumni Association is the alumni association of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  It was established in 1994 and incorporated as a 'company limited by guarantee' under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622 of the Laws of Hong Kong) on 7 February 2017.  Formerly it was known as MILES Alumni Association (joint by graduates of the Department of Mechanical / Production Engineering, Department of Mechanical, Production, and Marine Engineering (MPM), Department of Production and Industrial Engineering (PIE), Department of Manufacturing Engineering (MFG) and Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE)).

We have over 850 members and is linked to an extensive network (including overseas) of the Federation of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Association.  The purpose of the Association is to link up all the alumni of manufacturing and industrial engineering and its forerunners of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as well as to strengthen the network between the University, alumni and industry.

  • To empower students and alumni with tailored resources for continuous growth and mentorship

History of MILES Alumni Association (MILESAA)

MILESAA is an Alumni Association of graduates from:

1960 Department of Mechanical / Production Engineering
1960s Department of Mechanical, Production, and Marine Engineering (MPM)
1973 Department of Production and Industrial Engineering (PIE)
1987 Department of Manufacturing Engineering (MFG)
2001 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE)

 

MILESAA was established in 1994 by its alumni and incorporated as PolyU MILES Alumni Association Ltd. on February of 2017, denotes Manufacturing, Industrial, Logistics, Enterprise and Systems Alumni Association.

Constitution

PolyU MILES Alumni Association Limited is the alumni association of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  It is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee under the Company Ordinance (Cap. 622 of the Laws of Hong Kong) on 7 February 2017.  Formerly it was known as MILES Alumni Association ("MILES" denotes Manufacturing, Industrial, Logistics, Enterprise and Systems) which was established in 1994 as a society by a group of alumni.
