Manufacturing Forum 2024

 

 Manufacturing Forum 2024 was completed on 19 October 2024. The event were jointly organized by PolyU MILES Alumni Association Limited, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and MIES Section of The IET Hong Kong. There were 88 participants joint this forum of which 8 participants were from PolyU MILES Alumni Association Limited.

The event started with welcome speech by Mak Shu Lun - Chairman of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (Hong Kong), followed by opening remarks by Fu Ziaowen - Professor and Head of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Wu Ka Shing - PolyU MILES Alumni Association Limited. 

Afterwards, souvenirs presentation to speakers  and group photos were taken with organizing committee and participants 

Three keynote speeches are:

  1. Challenges and New Development Dynamics in Hong Kong’s Manufacturing Industry by Sze Kam Shing.
  2. Advanced Manufacturing – Scale up and Planning of Biopharmaceutical Process by Chan Chung Pong
  3. Applications of AI in Advanced Manufacturing by Lim Long Hei

Two panel discussions are:

  1. To Lead Hong Kong’s Manufacturing Industry Enterprises Towards the Future/ Drive Industry Development
  2. The Synergy of Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology

The event ended with closing remarks by Law Wing Ting – Chairlady, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Section, The Institution of Engineering and Technology (Hong Kong) at 13:00, participants had gained new insights about manufacturin
