Summary
Exposure treatment is a fundamental method to treat psychological disorders such as anxiety disorder and numerous phobias. Virtual reality has been explored for exposure treatment to realize low-cost, all-time-available, location-free, and controllable treatment environment and experience. The field is still in its infancy and existing research works heavily lean on the medical perspective while VR side requires more efforts. This talk will discuss the current progress on the development of VR perspective in VRET and future directions with great potentials and interesting challenges.

Dr Peng Yuan Zhou
Assistant Professor
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Aarhus University, Denmark
Dr. Zhou is currently an Assistant Professor. in ECE, Aarhus University. He was a Research Assoc. Prof. in USTC from 2021 to 2023. Before that, he was a PostDoc at CS, Univ. of Helsinki, where he got his PhD funded by EU Marie Curie ITN. His research interests focus on ensuring the trustworthiness of pervasive AI and XR systems, especially regarding efficiency, privacy, and fairness.
