Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing tool which provides simple online meetings, content sharing and video conferencing capability. To enhance the online teaching and learning experience, Zoom has been made available as an option of online teaching tools for all semester two class instructors since 23 March 2020.
Zoom has been integrated with LEARN@PolyU and Microsoft Teams. Students can simply join Zoom online classes after logging in to LEARN@PolyU or Microsoft Teams depending on the platform used by the instructors for course content sharing. As Zoom has hosting Data Centre in Mainland, students based in Mainland can conveniently join online classes on Zoom without using the secure VPN service.

- Supports maximum class size of 300
- No limit on online class duration
- Flexible video layout: 1 – 49 video display windows in gallery view
- Supports recording on local computer in MP4 format
- Breakout rooms for small group discussion
- Attendance and chat history report
- Supports Windows, Mac, iOS and Android
