Biography

Prof. Achim I. Czerny is Full Professor at the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Previously he was employed at the VU University of Amsterdam, Department of Spatial Economics, and the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He is Chairman of the German Aviation Research Society (GARS), Vice-President of the International Transportation Economics Association (ITEA), and Executive Committee member of the European Aviation Conference Institute (EACI) and the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS). He studied Economics at the TU Berlin and holds a doctoral degree in Economics from the TU Berlin. He has a member of the editorial boards of various transportation journals, edited various Journal Special Issues as guest editor and published in transportation journals and economics journals including Transport Research Parts A, B, E, Economics of Transportation, Journal of Air Transport Management, Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, Journal of Regulatory Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
