The Emerging Global Leaders Scholarship is granted to eligible local students with outstanding HKDSE qualifications and admitted to the 4-year BBA (Hons) Scheme in Global Business and Logistics, Aviation, Maritime, and Supply Chain Management (programme code: 44493; JUPAS code: JS3070) offered by the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS) starting from 2025/26 intake cohort.

Value

A maximum of 25 scholarships shall be awarded. Each awardee will receive a total sum of HK$300,000. This includes:

• Full tuition fee coverage for a whole undergraduate study 
  (subject to meeting the required conditions for scholarship renewal)
• Full sponsorship for participation in overseas development activities
  (subject to final approval of LMS on a case-by-case basis)
  • Copenhagen Business School Dual Degree Programme
  • Overseas Exchange Programmes
  • Summer Schools at world-renowned universities

Eligibility

Current year Secondary Six students taking the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE)

Conditions of Award

Each recipient of the Scholarship shall:

1. Meet the University’s general entrance requirements for admission to LMS’s full-time BBA programmes;
2. Attain an aggregate HKDSE score of 25* or above for the Best 5 subjects;
3. Be successfully admitted in JS3070;
   

Conditions of Annual Renewal

1. Maintain a full-time registered student status and be free of disciplinary record(s) during his/her studies in LMS of PolyU;
2. Maintain good performance during his/her studies in the LMS programme with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of each academic year.

Application

Interested students, please complete the Application Form on or before 31 December 2024 at Hong Kong Time 23:59. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview. Successful applicants will receive conditional offers of the scholarship.

Remarks

• Under the “Guideline Governing the Concurrent Holding of Scholarships”, a student can concurrently hold more than one scholarship administered by the University in an academic year if the total value of scholarships received by him/her does not exceed his/her annual tuition fee payable plus an allowance of HK$50,000 unless otherwise stipulated.
• Eligibility for the scholarship will lapse automatically if the student terminates his/her study in LMS, or transfer to another department, or fail to comply with University policies/regulations and/or the laws of Hong Kong.
• PolyU/LMS reserves the right to change the terms or withdraw the Scholarship at any time.  In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of PolyU/LMS is final.

* The Extended Mathematics modules will also be taken into account for scholarship consideration; For the purpose of calculating the admission scores, HKDSE level attainments will be converted to level points where Level 5**=8.5, 5*=7, 5=5.5, 4=4, 3=3, 2=2, 1=1 and Unclassified=0.
