Prof. Ye Hengqing received the PhD degree from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2000. He is a professor with the Faculty of Business, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining PolyU, he taught at the School of Business, National University of Singapore during 2000-2007. He is a leading expert in the analysis of stochastic network models and has published research papers in academic journals such as Operations Research, Mathematics of Operations Research, and Annals of Applied Probability. Recently, he has been working on analytics problems arising from practices and innovations in health care, and would like to work with students who are interested in this area. Prospective students are expected to have good training in, but not limited to, the following areas: operations research, statistics, computing and/or machine learning. Some domain knowledge about the application areas (e.g., health care) would be plus.
