Dr T. L. Yip is currently Associate Dean of Students, Director of the C.Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies, the Programme Leader of BBA in International Shipping and Transport Logistics, and Associate Professor, Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Dr Yip is a specialist marine traffic engineer and a chartered mechanical engineer in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Before joining PolyU, he was the Principal / Senior Marine Engineer, BMT Asia Pacific (2002-2005). He has been teaching the shipping and maritime subjects in PolyU. Dr Yip’s research interests include fluid mechanics, hydrodynamics, maritime safety, marine traffic, maritime economics, shipping finance, port management, and low carbon logistics. Dr Yip has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
