2020 - 2021 Social Innovation Inventor Design Competition hosted by the World Green Organisation (WGO) has been successfully ended in September 2021. The team formed with LSGI and BRE students, including Kai Wing TAI (LSGI), Ching Hei CHAN (BRE) and Tsin Tung NG (BRE), gained the merit award/ award of finalists in Tertiary Group.
The Social Innovation Inventor Design Competition has been held since 2014 with aim to solve social problems and improving our society with innovative ideas. The objectives of the year in COVID-19 pandemic are to respond to the hygiene concern of public markets and the demand of municipal services. Regarding these two issues, the team designed “The Bliss”, a smart municipal services building. This building targets meeting the needs of residents in Tseung Kwan O and LOHAS Park by the provision of a smart wet market, a smart library, clinics, farming and greening places etc. It embodies 5 core values: balance, health, intelligence, share, and environmental-friendliness. The ultimate goal is to achieve sustainable development in Tseung Kwan O. To visualize the idea, a green handmade model was produced.
In this competition, our students demonstrate their abilities in helping our society with adopting smart city concept. They also wonderfully illustrate the capability of a multi-disciplines team. Great to have their work.
Congratulations to the awardees!
