Curriculum
The programme curriculum enables students to develop all-round skills ready for professional careers through subjects related to the land/utility surveying and geo-informatics industry, urban informatics and smart cities, and subjects related to languages, ethics and global engagement. By the end of the first foundation year, students will opt for BSc (Hons) in Land Surveying and Geo- Informatics or BSc (Hons) in Urban Informatics and Smart Cities. Selection of students will be according to the student choice and academic performance. Compulsory subjects are offered every year and in progressive patterns, whereas a group of elective subjects are offered in BSc (Hons) in Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics and BSc (Hons) in Urban Informatics and Smart Cities. This combination of compulsory and elective subjects equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to comprehend basic and advanced technologies.
These include basic surveying, positioning and navigation skills and advanced 3D mapping, modelling, visualisation skills related to the analysis of terrain, infrastructure, buildings, underwater environments, the underground world and even other planets, with emphases changing over time. Our graduates are of the highest calibre and are well equipped to pursue professional careers or further education after their 4 years of study.
