Biography
Yue Xu is a full-time PhD student at the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he continues to build on a solid academic foundation in architectural design. He earned his bachelor's degree in Architecture from Shandong University (SDU) and later obtained a Master’s degree in Architectural Design from University College London (UCL), specializing in the innovative field of human-robot interaction in pneumatic construction robots. Details of his master’s project “Wing” can be viewed at https://bpro2022.bartlettarchucl.com/rc2-soft-robotic-architecture/wings.
Throughout his academic career, Yue Xu has focused on merging the realms of architectural engineering and technology, specifically in human-computer interaction. His early research explored the fundamentals of architectural engineering and their applications in cutting-edge technologies like robotic construction. Today, his research interests have evolved to encompass augmented reality (AR), architectural design, and human-computer interaction (HCI). By integrating AR into architectural practices, Yue aims to enhance the functionality and aesthetic of healthcare buildings, making them more adaptive to human needs.
