Here are some frequently asked questions about Grants offered through PolyU-NVIDIA Joint Research Center

The Call for Collaboration aims to support innovative and interdisciplinary projects that push the boundaries of the intersection of technology and art, so as to solve real world problems and create academic, economic and social impacts. Institutions as well as individuals associated with organizations in cultural, art and technology fields are welcomed to apply for the grants.

To apply, each entity are encouraged to partner with a Principal Investigator from PolyU listed on our Centre Researcher list.

PolyU researcher must be selected from one of the PolyU-NVIDIA Centre-Researchers page, please refer to their research interests, and contact information on that page. Interested parties are encouraged to discuss project ideas with Centre Researcher before submitting an application. 

To inquire with potential collaborations, we recommend:

  1. Review and identify 1-2 Centre Researchers whose research expertise aligns best with your project ideas.
  2. Reach out via email with a brief overview of your project concept and how the Centre Researcher's skills could contribute. Express your interest in discussing opportunities to partner.
  3. Be prepared to provide more details on your project vision, timeline and funding needs upon request. Centre Researchers receive many inquiries so be concise yet compelling in your initial outreach.
  4. Follow up politely if you do not receive a reply within 2 weeks. Centre Researchers travel frequently so initial responses may be delayed.
  5. Be flexible and willing to refine your project scope based on the feedback and availability. Successful partnerships require alignment on goals and approach.

Successful candidates are typically PhD students or postdoctoral researchers who would demonstrate strong academic achievement and research potential to contribute significantly to the Centre’s mission of collaborative academia-industry research excellence. They will work on specific projects under the guidance of Centre Researcher with the joint support from PolyU Design and NVIDIA.

FAQ about Internship Opportunities

Frequently Asked Questions about PolyU-NVIDIA Joint Research Center Internships

Our Centre provides internship opportunities for students studying in Hong Kong and recent graduates to work with NVIDIA in Hong Kong. Paid and non-paid internship opportunities will be announced on the Centre’s website. Interested parties are encouraged to stay tuned to the website.
Application generally require an unofficial transcript, resume and cover letter outlining your background and internship goals. Please refer to the instruction of each opening. 
While preference is given to graduate students and those with relevant research experience, exceptional undergraduates in their final year are also considered. Relevant coursework and interests are prioritized over degree level.
Internships are flexible depending on your availability and project needs, generally with minimum commitments of 10-12 weeks.
