The Research Grant Council (RGC) announced the results of the Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) 2023/24. The TRS aims to direct the academic research efforts of University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded universities to four designated themes that are strategically important to the long-term development of Hong Kong.
Among the nine projects supported by TRS this year, two are led by PAIR researchers with total funding of about HK$100 million. They aim at developing a collaborative edge computing framework for smart city applications, and a real-time early-warning and management system to enhance the resilience of high-rise building clusters in coastal cities, respectively. This funding success underscores PAIR’s dedication to driving long-term, sustainable development in Hong Kong.
