Biography
Dr.PriyaKannan'sobtainedherMaster’s (by research)andPhD degrees in Physiotherapy (Women'sHealth) from the UniversityofOtago,NewZealand. Her research primarily focuses on pain management, particularlyinwomen’shealth, urinary incontinence, exercise prescription,andphysicalactivity.She has several publications inpeer-reviewedjournalswithinternationalstandingandhighimpactfactor.She has also presented her research atnationalandinternationalconferences.HerworkhasbeenrecognizedintheinternationalarenaspecificallyinAustralia.PresentationofDr.Priya Kannan'sworkinscientificconferenceresultedinherachieving"BestNewResearcher"attheAustralianPhysiotherapyAssociation ConferenceinAustralia (2015).
Dr. Priya Kannan was awarded the University of Otago International Research Master's scholarship to support her Master's study. Her exceptional performance in the Master’s study allowed her to be competitive and successful in receiving an Otago University Doctoral scholarship for her PhD study. During her PhD study, she successfully obtained external grants from the Physiotherapy New Zealand organization to support her research and also a New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women, Otago travel award.
