Biography
Dr Huang earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from Sichuan University and her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining the department as an Assistant Professor, she worked as a visiting researcher at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.
Her research interests are focused on understanding and improving the physical function of people with neurological conditions, utilizing a range of techniques and approaches that have the potential to significantly impact patient care. Dr Huang has extensive clinical research experience in stroke, motor impairment, and mobility/postural control issues, and is passionate about advancing innovative technologies and interdisciplinary research in rehabilitation science and clinical practice. Currently, she is studying non-invasive brain stimulation in stroke and Parkinson's Disease, and designing innovative exercise programs for individuals with chronic conditions.
Dr Huang is accepting students who are interested in pursuing PhD research in the field of neurorehabilitation.
