Congratulations to Muskan Shah, a BA student who received the Hong Kong Association of University Women (HKAUW) Scholarship of HK$5,000 for her outstanding academic achievements and service work. Muskan will receive 75% of the scholarship amount immediately and the remainder after she conducts and completes her community service this year.
Muskan is interested in a career in sustainable fashion after graduation. She believes that the HKAUW scholarship will encourage her to help more people and contribute to a better world: “As the scholarship focuses on benefitting women in the workforce, I think all women can help each other and grow together to do great things, and help me to strive forward and reach out, giving me a network of other women to work with wherever I go in the future!”
Muskan is grateful to many people for helping her along the way: “I would like to thank my volunteer internship supervisors from Redress, Ms Koey and Ms Morgane, for their recommendation and support in my work in addition to the ITC professors who helped me to grow and discover new experiences.”
Muskan will also enroll as a member of the HKAUW and participate in HKAUW events including workshops and talks.
Every year, the HKAUW selects a full-time female student recipient across selected Hong Kong tertiary institutions for their scholarship. Their aim is to improve the quality of education given to women as well as their professional opportunities. They seek to foster connections among university women and encourage them to learn from one another as well as empower one another to achieve great things in their career. They also wish to value and promote community service so that women can grow as individuals while also contributing to the community and encouraging mutual growth, particularly among women.
