The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aims to facilitate the development of key infrastructure projects in countries along the Belt and Road. According to one recent World Bank report by de Soyres et al. (2018), the BRI transport projects that are completed or planned will significantly reduce cross-border shipment time and trade costs. Southeast Asian countries are among the economies that will experience the highest reduction in trade costs because of these BRI projects. This symposium, organized by PolyU Faculty of Business – Belt and Road Centre, will bring together experts from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore to share their knowledge and views on infrastructure development in these countries.
