We have successfully extended the EQUIS accreditation for the Faculty in November 2020 and the AACSB accreditation for our business programmes in March 2021.
Renewing our accreditation for another three years, the EQUIS Accreditation Board took particular note of the strength of the Faculty's IDEAS mission, its established research position and overall teaching performance. It commended the Faculty for offering excellent learning experiences to students with many innovation projects and its links to the business community of Hong Kong which have been translated into learning experiences and career opportunities for students.
EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is an international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of business schools. EQUIS accreditation ensures a rigorous quality control, benchmarking each school against international standards in terms of governance, programmes, students, faculty, research, internationalization, ethics, responsibility and sustainability, as well as engagement with the world of practice. The Faculty of Business of PolyU has maintained this accreditation since 2007.
The AACSB re-accreditation is valid for five years. In its report, the peer review team highlights the Faculty's best practices and continuous improvement in management education. It notes the Faculty's effectiveness of commitment and adherence to its strategic plan with visionary leadership, faculty support schemes, a research-focused dean and research-focused departmental chairs. It also points out that the Faculty has an enviable mix of top-quality researchers, academic administrators, and teaching professionals as well as a balance of research and teaching faculty, and ongoing support for research development. The combination of highly respected research impact, close connection with industry, service-learning activities and Work-Integrated Education attracts qualified prospective students to all programmes.
AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and professional development services to member organizations and accredited business schools. AACSB accreditation signals to the world that an institution has committed to upholding and advancing the quality of its programmes, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Faculty's business education has maintained this accreditation since 2010.
