PolyU Capture-the-Flag (CTF) team won the Silver Award (Tertiary Institution Category) of Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation CTF Challenge 2020

Congratulations to our PolyU Capture-the-Flag (CTF) team, who has won the Silver Award (Tertiary Institution Category) of the Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation CTF Challenge 2020 jointly organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and its Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) from 6 to 8 November 2020. Managed by Dr Haibo Hu and coached by Mr Kong Chun Ho (EIE MPhil student), the team members including Lam Kin Wai (Leader, BSc in INS, EIE student), Au Shun Yi (BSc in INS, EIE student), Tam Siu Hang (BSc in INS, EIE student), and Tang Man Kit (COMP student), took the Jeopardy-style CTF challenge of solving over 40 questions within 48 hours through searching, researching, using different tools and programming. Aiming to heighten teenagers’ cyber security awareness and to train up more IT talents, the competition awarded winning teams with a free cyber security training programme to encourage them for further learning on relevant areas. Let’s await the team’s exciting return after training and looking forward to their next challenges!
