Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 2024 and Other Knowledge Transfer Activities in Swallowing Research

Since 2021, Prof. Elaine Kwong has been invited to represent CBS to participate in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES), the largest gerontechnology public education event in Hong Kong, on 21-24 November 2024. During the 4-day exhibition, Prof. Kwong led a team of undergraduate/postgraduate students from CBS to provide public education on swallowing disorders. The team also showcased the application of ultrasound imaging to the swallowing examination to the general public, stakeholders of rehabilitation and elderly services and industry representatives. A total of 35,000 visits was recorded in this year’s GIES.

Prof. Kwong was recently featured on the local TV programme News Magazine and discussed the implementation of a standardised diet modification framework for dysphagic patients and the promotion of gerontechnology in Hong Kong. Click (Part I) and (Part II) to watch the videos.
