DALS Student Wins Outstanding Paper Award in Inter-regional Competition
Highlights
One of our DALS students, Yao Le, won first prize in the Contest for Outstanding Paper Awards of the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Academic Exchanges.
Yao Le shared with us her thoughts on the experience:
I sometimes find myself getting disoriented in the solitary pursuit of my research interests. During times as such, connecting to others who share my interests has been an immense help. Last month I was lucky to participate in the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Academic Exchanges. The event was a great venue for interesting debates and provided a platform for me to present my ideas. I found myself relishing the abundance of opportunities to learn from inspiring talks given by renowned scholars and outstanding research done by my peers from across the Greater Bay Area. I feel very humbled that my paper was awarded first prize in the final contest, and would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks to my supervisor, Dr Li Dechao for advising on the paper, and much more mentoring beyond. I'm also grateful to all my teachers and peers who have gone out of the way to support me. It is with the energising connections with these wonderful people that I managed to stay motivated in this academic journey fraught with challenges and rewards.
