Abstract
This keynote will start with some quotes about change and a reflection on their applications in the education context, followed by a quick introduction of the use and pitfalls of GenAI tools, and the challenges they pose on education. The talk will then describe how The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has been rising to some of these challenges through teacher development via workshops, training, information dissemination on websites, the establishment of an AI Playground for hands-on experience, an in-house developed Learning Analytics Platform, advice on assessment re-design to allow the use of GenAI in the process, promotion of student-staff partnership, and collection and analysis of redesigned assessments. The keynote will end with insights on one of the quotes about change shown at the beginning of the talk.
