There are several funding/award schemes available to support research students. You may explore the following items and consult your targeted department before submitting an application:

• Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
  PolyU invites expressions of interest from graduates, irrespective of country of origin and ethnic background, with evidence of academic excellence, research ability and potential, and good communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities for full-time PhD study in Hong Kong within the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme.
  
  Applicants for admission to PhD programmes at PolyU via the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme will concurrently be considered for regular places assigned to the University through the award of Research Studentships. Outstanding candidates will be nominated by the University to compete for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme.

• PolyU Presidential PhD Fellowship Scheme
  The University launched the PolyU Presidential PhD Fellowship Scheme for full-time PhD programmes.
  
  
• Research Studentships
  PolyU offers Research Studentships to full-time PhD and MPhil students. The Studentship is a scholarship intended as a means of financial support to allow full-time research students to fully focus on their studies. It is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
  
  
• Teaching Postgraduate Studentship Scheme
  The main objectives of the Teaching Postgraduate Studentship (TPS) Scheme are to grant, on a merit basis, stipends to eligible full-time research postgraduate (RPg) students as a means of financial support to allow them to fully focus on their studies; and to provide more teaching experience and training opportunities to interested postgraduate students to widen their exposure for the development of their academic career.
