Outstanding PolyU Alumnus and Chairman of Jetta Company Limited, Ir Wong Tit-shing, has made a generous donation of HK$2 million to support student development for the sixth consecutive year. At the cheque presentation ceremony held on 22 July 2016, PolyU President Professor Timothy W. Tong thanked Ir Wong for his significant contribution to the University over the years. In recognition of Ir Wong’s staunch support, the “Alumni Common” in the “Alumni Atrium” will be named “Wong Tit Shing Alumni Common”.
The “Alumni Atrium” located in Core A and spanning across an area of 250m², is a new facility dedicated to our alumni community. The “Alumni Common” is located on the mezzanine floor and has a contemporary design. It is an ideal place for reading, leisure and other networking activities. The “Alumni Atrium” will be officially opened by the end of 2016. The opening will also be one of the activities marking the commencement of the year-long celebration of the 80th Anniversary of PolyU in 2017.
