Campus Greenery - Michelia figo (Lour.) Spreng (含笑)

Michelia figo (Lour.) Spreng is a much-branched evergreen shrub. Flowers appear from March to May and fruits are produced between July and August. This species is considered to be ornamental and is used medicinally. The leaves are used as food for butterfly larvae. It is cultivated in most tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions on Earth.
