We consume around 1.12 kg of food per day, yet 1 kg of food will end up in a landfill in every three-person household and in total we are producing more than 3,500 tonnes of food waste every day. Overconsumption of food seems to be part of our daily life in the face of global hunger. We must do more to reduce our waste in order to contribute to global food security and sustainable production. What should we do to save food? It is simple. We should plan our meals better. We should prepare a shopping list and get only what we need. We should order what we can finish at eateries.
