Smiley Planet, a local green organization, initiated the project Go Cup in Hong Kong to promote the habit of bring-your-own-cup. The project has aroused much attention on reducing the use of single-use cups by staging activities and roadshows. On 30 November 2016, Go Cup made a stop at the Podium, FJ Wing on PolyU campus with a mobile tea cart. Students and staff who brought their own cups were able to enjoy Hong Kong style milk tea for free. For more information about Go Cup, please visit http://www.gocup.hk/.
The success of Go Cup on campus echoes well with the University’s advocacy of BYO (Bring Your Own) culture. All are strongly encouraged to bring their own food containers or mugs when making purchases at campus catering outlets, and they can enjoy cash discounts. More information can be found at the PolyU Green Map at http://www.polyu.edu.hk/greencampus/map.
