Hong Kong's Council for Sustainable Development (SDC) conducted a territory-wide public engagement on sustainable consumption of biological resources in 2016 to arouse public awareness, stimulate public discussion, and explore ways and means to encourage changes that are conducive to a more sustainable pattern. Biological resources refer to all living organisms that fulfill human’s fundamental needs, including animal resources (e.g. fish), plant resources (e.g. trees) and microbial resources (e.g. bacteria).
A roving exhibition was held at the 3/F Foyer of Lee Shau Kee Building (Block Y) during 7 to 11 November 2016. Information about our relationship with biological resources, impacts of our over-exploitation and current situations in Hong Kong were presented and analyzed in details. Representatives from SDC were present and exchanged ideas with the PolyU community.
