Student hall community getting eco-minded

Green Green Hall Community (GGHC) in Hung Hom Hall inspires, facilitates and supports diverse students in developing an environmentally sustainable society through awareness building and engagement. Activities were held from January to March 2017 serving this purpose.

A Jam Workshop was prepared under the spotlight of preserving the (food) leftovers. Creative lessons were given to teach the skills and knowledge in food, cookery and healthy eating. Students managed to learn to identify, demonstrate, sterilize and store jam in the correct manner following the correct procedures in jam-making. Another Awareness Movie Nights were held to raise awareness about all types of social, cultural and environmental issues through screening documentaries and discussing on them. For instance, David Attenborough’s Planet Earth II was shown and it concludes with a heartfelt appeal of not losing its connection with the natural world.

Plans are on the way and GGHC will organize the shoreline cleanup, the mountain clean and many interesting activities soon.
