On 11 February 2017, the Joint College Environmental Innovation Alliance (JCEIA) organized a conference on sustainable fashion at PolyU. The flagship event aimed to foster exchange between professionals from the fashion industry and promote environmental-friendly innovations in apparels.
The event was officiated by Secretary of Environment Mr KS Wong and celebrity-cum-sustainable fashion advocate Ms Nicola Cheung Young. Representatives from prominent fashion brands and research institutions, including Daydream Nation, Crystal Group, H&M, Redress and HKRITA, shared their cutting-edge practices in designing and manufacturing eco-friendly garments. More than 90 professionals, students, fashion enthusiasts and representatives from green groups joined the annual conference, which culminated in a panel discussion where speakers exchanged their insights followed by a Q&A session by the audience.
