The University’s Paper Reduction Policy came into effect in April 2017. Subsequently, a campus-wide campaign named PaperReduction@PolyU has commenced in July 2017 to engage the entire campus community to advance further.
Steered by the Campus Sustainability Committee (CSC) and Campus Sustainability Office (CSO), this campaign aims to raise awareness of everyone on campus to reduce their reliance on paper and leverage on collaborative efforts to conserve the precious paper resources. Under this campaign, the University targets to reduce paper consumption on a university-basis by an overall 10% at the end of financial year 2017/18 focusing on office-use printing paper. Moreover, all Faculties, Schools, Departments and Administrative and Supporting Offices are encouraged to review their paper consumption patterns, identify paper reduction opportunities and promote the paper reduction culture to the campus community.
