PolyU staged its 80th Anniversary Open Day on 2 and 3 December 2017. Adding more fun and inspiration to this exciting occasion, the Campus Sustainability Office had the pleasure of welcoming all visitors through staging an unparalleled exploration into nature and green culture. Themed ‘Explore Nature@PolyU’, the showcase brought about an opportunity which visitors were able to learn more of the University’s biodiversity, trees, green facilities and sustainability establishments from the user-friendly and interactive platforms developed and maintained by CSO. These web-based platforms namely Fauna@PolyU, PolyU Tree Map, and GreenMap@PolyU enabled all users to find out the beauty of nature and green being blended perfectly into the campus landscape with just a few clicks over the web platforms. Dedicated sharing sessions, workshops, and guided campus tours were also arranged. Visitors enjoyed an interesting encounter with birds, butterflies, and trees across the campus and brought home with them DIY upcycled tree branch shaker and recycled seed paper.
