Invited by the Campus Sustainability Office, two teams of students currently attending the School of Design’s Higher Diploma in Multimedia Design and Technology programme came up with creative ideas and projects to arouse awareness over the University community in cutting down their use of disposable items.
A dedicated social media campaign and a short animation on a theme of ‘Say goodbye to single-use items’ are produced by these students. While the Facebook campaign engages the presidents of some of the University’s student organizations in creating a series of Facebook feeds to help spread the message of BYO (Bring Your Own), the animation clip adopts a creative and interesting story presentation to discourage the use of disposables. These students’ works succeed in boosting awareness on this subject matter. The students also have a great lesson as they reflect on their own dining behaviors in the course. It is time to appreciate their creativity and efforts and respond to their call!
