Members of the student community of the Green Green Hall Community (GGHC) joined the Campus Sustainability Office in the Starfish Bay beach cleanup activity in January 2018. This was a memorable event to all particularly Mohammed Aquil Mirza, President of GGHC. “I have learned and achieved much from the beach cleaning activity. Even though it started with a handful of students, it has grown into a huge cleanup that involves PolyU students, volunteers, and hall residents who endure for the same common goal of cleaning up our shoreline areas and taking care of our beaches. I am thrilled and excited to be a part of this initiative, and I appreciate all the help and support I get from the Campus Sustainability Office.”
GGHC will organize a plogging activity in early April. It is hoped that more students can join in these easy-to-do activities and lead an ‘eco-friendly lifestyle’ in Hong Kong.
