Reducing plastic cutlery use

The Government reported that disposable plastic tableware makes up 2% of local municipal solid waste. It is deeply concerned about the environmental impacts brought about by disposable plastic tableware and has taken the lead in avoiding of its use. The Government has issued internal guidelines to bureaus and departments to avoid the use of such items. Furthermore, it will also explore the possibility of requiring canteen operators on government properties to avoid offering plastic straws and other disposable tableware.
