PolyU supports UNIfy: BYO

To deepen the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium (HKSCC)’s determination to reduce disposables at source, the second joint university campaign UNIfy: BYO (八大BYO) was conducted during 11 to 17 March 2019. PolyU echoed this collective campaign with a BYO Friday buy-one-get-one-free event organized on 8 and 15 March 2019. Students and staff were able to enjoy a complimentary beverage when they purchased and carried the drinks at selected cafes with their reusable cups.

Each of the university staged its own BYO week with an array of on-campus engagement activities and discounts at their selected catering outlets. Campus community members were engaged to take BYO actions and reduce disposable waste by bringing their own reusable items (water bottles, cups, food containers, cutlery, bags etc.) to meet their needs.
