Material Resource Centre featured an exhibition for the University community and the public in July 2019 to examine the various aspects of upcycling. Staged on the 11/F of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower, the exhibition presented two special benches made of Mimosaceae (相思木) from fallen trees which caught attention from all visitors. These benches, beautifully crafted, demonstrated an excellent example of how the recycling process worked well by turning unwanted fallen trees into public seats. Besides, the exhibition also showed pictures in frames made of recycled fabrics to reveal the beauty of the four seasons. Works from R2 and made in sample, MRC’s collaborators were featured as well to exhibit creativity in upcycling.
