Education
Most primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong are operated or funded by the Education Bureau, providing free education. Besides, there are a number of private schools, including international schools, information about which is available at https://internationalschools.edb.hkedcity.net.
Including PolyU, there are eight universities directly funded by the government, as listed out at https://www.ugc.edu.hk/eng/ugc/site/fund_inst.html. Other universities and institutions, such as the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, also offer tertiary education.
Language
English and Chinese are official written languages. In terms of spoken dialect, Cantonese is the mother tongue of most people in Hong Kong.
