The University has issued “Guideline on Fire Wardens of Departments and Offices” to appoint and train fire wardens so that they can help to achieve fast and complete evacuation upon hearing a fire alarm.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Upon hearing a fire alarm, a Fire Warden should:
- Leave immediately his / her workplace.
- Alert people to leave their workplace and the affected building using fire exits / staircases.
- Stay at the assigned fire assembly point.
- Report abnormal situations, if any, to the incident in-charge or the fireman in charge of the operation.
